Chantel's story

Age 15

Hi my name is Chantel and I was diagnosed with UC when I was 9. I am now 15.

My mom knew something was wrong with me when there was blood in my stool. She took me to my doctor and he didn't know what it was (not the sharpest tool in the shack) Well then I went to Burlington they did A LOT of tests.

I've had that colonoscopy 2-3 times. I hate it and I'm taking 14 1/2 pills a day. The symptoms for me are mild. But when I was younger they were severe and really BAD. I remember when I was living in my old house and I was walking down the street. I had the sharpest pain in my stomach where I couldn't even walk. It hurt so bad.

It is hard for me to remember to take my medicine and stuff. I have missed A LOT of school because of this. But this is my story.
